Everyone is welcome to audition for Coach House Players productions.

Auditions for 2019 will be posted when dates determined by the Coach House Players board of directors.

Performance dates below are tentative until reconfirmed by the board of directors (hopefully November).

Murder on the Nile

  • Beadsellers, pesky peddlers trying to get a buck
  • Steward, the head waiter
  • Helen Ffoliot-ffoulkes, a wealthy snob
  • Christina Grant, Helen’s niece
  • Kay Ridgeway-Mostyn, the “richest girl in England”
  • Simon Mostyn, Kay’s husband
  • Louise, Kay’s maid
  • Dr. Bessner, a doctor from a country ruined by Kay’s father
  • Canon Ambrose Pennefather, Kay’s uncle and guardian
  • Jacqueline de Severac, Kay’s ex-best friend and Simon’s ex-fiancée
  • William Smith, a wise-cracking “kid”
  • McNaught, the Lotus’s captain

Synopsis:  Kay Ridgeway has led a charmed life. Blessed with beauty, enormous wealth, and a new husband, she embarks on a honeymoon voyage down the Nile. Fatal circumstances await when the idyllic surroundings are shattered by a shocking and brutal murder. Under scrutiny is a multitude of memorable passengers, all with a reason to kill. The tension and claustrophobia builds, as a shocking and audacious conspiracy is laid bare.

Synopsis:  A sunny room on an upper floor is prime real estate in the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility, so when the cantankerous Abby is forced to share her quarters with new-arrival Marilyn, she has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-upmanship that reveals not just the tenacity of these worthy opponents, but also deeper truths that each would rather remain hidden.

The Matchmaker

Cast: 9 male, 7 female

Synopsis:  Horace Vandergelder, a wealthy merchant in nineteenth-century Yonkers, NY, decides to take a wife and employs a matchmaker, Mrs. Dolly Levi. Dolly subsequently becomes involved with two of Vandergelder’s clerks, several lovely ladies, and the headwaiter at an expensive restaurant where this swift farce runs headlong into hilarious complications. After everyone gets straightened out romantically, Vandergelder finds himself affianced to the astute Dolly Levi herself.

Synopsis:   A Shayna Maidel, the title is Yiddish meaning “pretty girl”, tells the story of what happens when two sisters reunite after years of separation brought on by the aftermath of the Holocaust.  Set in Brooklyn, 1946, the  script explores the growing relationship between the sisters, when the younger one who escaped to America as a child is suddenly confronted by her older sister who was left behind and survived the horrors of war.  Raised in such diverse environments that they may as well have come from different planets, their meeting provokes unexpected or anticipated questions each has about the other as well as reflections on identity, role, family placement and self- worth.
